Re-backed in the mid twentieth-century in light tan calf, with raised bands, gilt titles to contrasting red and green labels, using contemporary marbled calf boards. Cased using bright cream endpapers. Quite heavily toned to edges and title page; moderately toned throughout. Modern endpapers do not match the original paperstock. Occasional marks and spots; a clean copy overall. Light wear to original boards; corners bumped. Modern spine is perhaps a little bleached, but never matched the colour of the boards.
