Hardcover. 149/40/62 pages Width: 3.25" Height: 5.25" Book Details: This antique volume is bound in full vellum, with title printed in ink on the spine. The text of the volume is adorned with decorative ornamentation to page numbers, woodcut head and tailpieces, and different styles of lettering. Small insect holes to the vellum and mild soiling. The binding is sound. Small [smaller than a pinhead], insect holes continue to be visible on pages at the front and rear of the volume, obscuring only very small spots of text. A previous owner's signature appears on the front paste-down, as well as a number of pencil notes. Ink markings appear sporadically in the interior, including on the title page. The pages are largely clean and bright, with occasional mild foxing. Rare ed of Neolatin poetry. Apparently this is the only edition published. .

Front endpaper with some water markings and soiling. Rear endpaper is also soiled. Light foxing and marginal staining are visible on title page. Water markings appear along top edge of pages, without affecting illustrations or maps. Illustrated with five b&w illustrations and many full- and double-page color maps. .

Bound in maroon cloth over beveled boards with stamped gilt lettering to the spine and bright color pastedowns to the front and rear cover. The book shows external wear, with rubbing and minor scuffing/scratching to covers. A 1/2" closed tear appears in the lower half of the spine cover. Minor loss of material can be seen at the top/bottom and the outside corners of the boards. The binding is sound. The edges of the text block are tinted red. The front endpaper, the preliminary pages and the first 75 pages of text display water markings to the fore edge, growing ever smaller as one progresses though the text. Three antique song sheets, published in the format of a small broadside measuring 6" x 9.5", by H. J. Wehman, Song Publisher, New York." Included is #78, "Home Again; " #3, "Auld Lang Syne; " and #16, "My Country 'Tis of Thee." These song sheets are not dated. These pages are generally in excellent condition, albeit yellowed. Please note that "Auld Lang Syne" is printed on pink paper, which is unusual. .
