London: Taylor and Walton, 1845. Hardcover. Very Good. [12] pp 1-378 A four hundred page commonplace from the mid 19th century which reveals a demanding scheme of reading by its Victorian author. The writer does not reveal his or her identity although the author seems to have been bilingual in French and English and reads and writes in both languages. The detailed index to the rear includes many French subjects such as "Caractere de Charles 12" and "Lettre de Bonaparte" along with lighter reading such as a review of Walter Scott's Ivanhoe. The manuscript is in very good condition, and the binding firm although the marbled…
