Baltimore, MD: Guggenheim, Weil & Co, 1898. Two small quarto volumes; in black half-leather over brown pebbled cloth, with spines lettered in gilt; [xiv], [1]. 2-934, including the Alphabetical Index to Field Officers; viii, [1], 2-285, followed by Alphabetical Index to Field Officers of Army, and Naval Officers of Corresponding Rank; each officer with photographic frontispiece; closed tear to the front endpaper of Volume II; both volumes show considerable wear, with loss to the leather, but each is holding well; the top of the spine of Volume I was reglued to the top of the textblock by a previous owner (making for a lousy repair).~~The two volumes are housed in what is clearly a much later slipcase, with paper labels to the spine and the front cover.~~The Nevins bibligraphy avers that this is "[a]nother typical state roster of state troops" [but this one] "is more scarce to locate than most of the others". (Nevins II, 156).
