Scuffing to boards; edgewear, especially to extremities; bumping to spine; ffep has been removed w/out compromising binding; older prices in pen on upper corner of half-title. Watson attempts here to clear up the controversy surrounding which death-mask of Napoleon's is the genuine article. Apparently, and credit goes to Joslin Hall Rare Books for this info., Watson takes a case for the "Sankey Cast," which has been dismissed by today's experts as the least likely candidate.
