Barbara Westman (b 1929-?) is, or was, an American illustrator who was to Boston what Bemelmans was to Paris. She is well-known for her crowded and meticulously-detailed depictions of Boston neighbourhoods. Although she did extensive work for the Boston Globe, and her work appears in museums and art galleries, and she produced at least ten covers for The New Yorker, she has managed to stay entirely out of the limelight, to the extent that no one seems to know if she's still alive.

Lorenzo Mattotti (1954- ) is an Italian comics artist and illustrator. His illustrations have been published in magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Vogue, The New Yorker, Le Monde and Vanity Fair. He is well-known for his Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde graphic novel.

Between 1938 and 1988, 213 Getz covers appeared on the magazine, making him the most prolific New Yorker cover artist of the 20th century. Getz also wrote and illustrated children's books.
