Oxford: Oxford University Press, 1962. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good/Very good. First edition in English, translated from the Hebrew by Batya and Chaim Rabin. The first full scholarly edition of this manual for military organization and strategy that was discovered among the Dead Sea Scrolls. The ink signature of Paul Naiditch, longtime Curator of Medieval and Renaissance Manuscripts at the University of California, Los Angeles, appears on the front flyleaf. Description:
New York: IGT, 1984. Inaugural issue of the first periodical devoted to New York street and subway art. The front cover captures the zine's rebellious sprit with an image of a bloated Mayor Ed Koch, the sworn enemy of "graffiti", covered with "tags". Inside is news about Michael Stewart, a street artist killed by police, and interviews with Sak and Rize, two teenage "writers", actively "burning" trains. Founded by photographer David Schmidlapp, or "Yanqui Junkie" as he is often identified, the zine was known by a variety of names during its decade long run (1984-94), including IGTimes, Subway Sun, InterGalactic Times, GetHip International Times, and Tight. Photomechanically reproduced on both sides of a 22" x 17" sheet of white stock that folds to 8 1/2" x 11". Some mild toning and edgewear; otherwise very good.

Description:
1898. Very good. An autograph letter signed (ALS) by John Russell Young, the seventh Librarian of Congress. Young was a journalist, author, and diplomat who served in the post for just two years before his death in 1899. The letter is handwritten written on Library of Congress letterhead to an unknown recipient. Young writes, "Sir, I have your work and am glad to comply with your request - I have many pleasant memories of Spain. I do not (word) the hope that the wisdom and (word) of the two countries will continue and maintain unbroken ties of friendship which have ever joined the United States and Spain." This correspondence seems to be associated with Young's international outreach. According to the Library of Congress, his business and political skills served him well during his brief tenure as Librarian of Congress. He used his diplomatic ties to enlarge the Library's collections. In February 1898, he sent a letter to U.S. diplomatic and consular representatives throughout the world asking them…
