The illustrations are shown on pp78-83. The original illustrations are clean and bright with the date 1948 pencilled on the rear. The book is very good plus with bright boards with a hint of dust staining and a little shelf wear along the bottom edge. Internally the book is clean and bright without name inscription or book plate The dust jacket is lightly dust stained with a small half chip to the bottom of the rear panel and minimal loss to the corners together with a few closed tears along the top and bottom edges of 0.5 - 4cm. The boards are a little toned around the edges and some spotting both front and back. Internally, there is a small bookseller's sticker to the bottom corner of the front pastedown but no name, inscription or bookplate. The pages are all quite spotted throughout, as are the edges of the text block. The dust jacket though, is very good. It has very minor loss to the fore edge corners and lower spine corners, a little loss and chipping at the spine head and a tiny closed tear in the centre of the spine foot tip.
