Paris: Actes Sud, 2003. A fine, bright copy. 12 x 9.5 inches. 256 pages. Profusely illustrated in color. Cloth; dust jacket. First edition. From the publisher: "An artistic journey accompanying Barcelo on his ongoing travels throughout Europe and Africa, encompassing projects and periods spent in Majorca, Barcelona, Mali, Palermo, Lanzarote, and Paris. - The themes of Barcelo's work--the way his art is touched by the light, the colors, the textures, and the materials of the places and the studios he has chosen, and the way in which he absorbs alien cultures, as well as uses them to rediscover his own heritage. - The intimacy and immediacy of the images, which capture and echo the dynamism and spontaneity that are palpable in all of his creations, from paintings and ceramics to architectural projects and designs for the stage. - The artist's imagination, where inspiration can be derived from the most eclectic of objects, from animal bones and dried plants to plastic toys.
