First Edition Folio 13" - 23" tall 230 page hardcover. Text in FRENCH. Oversize volume, square format, bound in bright red cloth with gold gilt lettering/design, 230+ pages, profusely illustrated 72 pages in color, 168 pages in black and white including pictorial endpapers. The book and jacket are both in near fine, excellent condition. Ernst Fuchs (1930-2015) was an Austrian artist and co-founder of the School of Fantastic Realism. His paintings, sculpture, and prints address themes of religion and mysticism, executed in luminous colors and textures, which is achieved by mixing egg tempera with paint and resin.
