Single sheet, lithographed & hand colored, measuring 12.5 inches by 10.5 inches folding to 6.25 inches by 5.25 inches (as issued) forming vii pages plus cover.
Lightly toned, trace edge wear, "313" in ink at the colophon page, otherwise Near Fine.
A lovely example of the art of Prentiss Taylor, beautifully printed in a small edition. The text provides a splendid recipe for "Claret Cup" & "Shrimp & Saffron." As noted on the colophon, "Garlands may be ordered from Prentiss Taylor, 4631 15th Street North, Arlington, Virginia." Mr.Taylor's work is in the collections of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American Art; The Phillips Collection; Gibbes Museum of Art; Museum of New Mexico; the Metropolitan Museum of Art; Whitney Museum of American Art Fisk University Galleries, and Greenville County Museum of Art.

Gilt dull affecting legibility, lacking "magic Glass," otherwise very good.
A splendid & sexy guide apparently given to gentlemen patrons of Victor's Pearls which had a location in Tokyo's Imperial Hotel. Provides 38 pages of color illustrations from photographs featuring gorgeous nude & semi-nude girls, mostly Asian, & a few examples of suggestive but not explicit Shunga. 92 pages follow for diary entries (unused), addresses, memos, & a chart for determining time world-wide. In conclusion are 6 "Stereo Nude Pictures" from photos. Sadly, the "Magic Glass" for viewing the girls in 3 dimensions is lacking.
Quite uncommon, we have been unable to locate another example.

A fine copy in lightly soiled very good or better dust jacket with a half-inch closed tear at the top edge of the front panel.

Collects volumes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, & 8 which were originally issued separately in wraps in 1939 & presumably earlier. As noted by the publisher, Girl Beautiful is "an album of artistic feminine poses for art students, amateur & professional photographers." The "artistic feminine poses" are considerably enhanced by the absence of clothing.

Quartos (11.25" x 8.25"), each volume with 126 unnumbered pages, profusely & provocatively illustrated in color from photographs throughout. Publisher's dark brown or orange cloth-patterned paper over boards lettered in gilt on the spines & decorated with the Playboy rabbit symbol on the upper covers. Lacking dust jackets.
The first volume is bound upside down and both pastedowns are inexplicably damaged where pasted to the boards at the vertical edges. The second volume is bruised at the top of the spine. Both volumes show light edge wear, brief soiling, & internal toning in the margins, still good or better.

Binding soiled, spine cocked, small splits at the joints, corners bruised, minor foxing, otherwise about good & still quite useful.
The author notes in his preface that he has "introduced into this work some descriptions of local custums, sports, and pastimes, which may tend to rescue from oblivion these fast-perishing relics of a bygone period."

The panels were originally attached by ribbon, now lacking, & designed to hang. Moderately toned & soiled, January - February rubbed briefly affecting lettering, one corner chipped away, lacking ribbon ties, otherwise Good & still quite attractive. Nicely printed bucolic scenes & quotes from the bible, quite uncommon!

A unusually nice copy of the "Southern" edition of this movie program which omits a portrait of African American Hattie McDaniel on the back cover. Her image, which appears on the "Northern" edition, was left off this version at the suggestion of consultant Legare Davis, the Advertising Manager for Atlanta Gas Light. Ms. McDaniel and other African American cast members did not attend the premier due to the State of Georgia's Jim Crow laws which prohibited them from sitting with their white colleagues.
