Description:
Haverhill New Hampshire: J.F.C. Hayes, 1841. This brand new spiral-bound booklet is a reprint of a rare book by Grant Powers, published in Haverhill New Hampshire in 1841 by J.F.C. Hayes and titled Historical Sketches in Coos Country and Vacinity 1754-1785. The tri-color front cover is printed on 80# card stock and has been protected with a vinyl sheet. The text is printed single-sided on 60# opaque paper. The original book was badly stained when we acquired it and appears to have been printed on a very low grade of paper, which is rapidly deteriorating. However, the information in the book is such a good source of early historical and genealogical data, we felt it worthwhile to reprint it, even in its imperfect condition. Towns mentioned include: Haverhill, Newbury, Hollis, Plymouth, Bradford, Fairlee, Orford, Walpole, Hinsdale, Charlestown. This booklet includes a Journal made by Capt. Powers while exploring the area in 1754, and discusses other early ventures into the area, such as the early… Read More
