Description:
Olathe, KS: Cookbook Publishers Inc, 1992. Book. Good. Audio Book (Cassette). Elva Beltz was a key player in the reorganization of the Cherokee Tribe that by ...1995 had been through many traumas-- an almost permanent loss of identity, loss of citizens through natural and man-made disasters and laws and had almost completely lost hope of ever being a people who could be proud of and celebrate their culture as a united people. Through the election of Elva Beltz and soon after the election of Chief Carl 'Grey Owl' Griggs in 1995, a new page was turned... The Green, Sac and White River bands were united once again and a concerted mutual effort was made to 'bring the children home'....

Description:
London: Chatto & Windus, 1883. Book. Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. Nature Near London is a collection of observational pieces from locations near London at the end of the 19th Century. The depth of knowledge and of familiarity with particular places and particular species gives the impression that each small piece is the product of many years of observation. Jefferies always explains the typical behaviour of whatever he is describing, and often contrasts what he sees with what one would expect to see in another part of the country, or in a different season. His knowledge of flowers is wide-ranging, and his ability to describe one particular patch of a field in such a specific way brings tremendous variety to the chapters that make up the book..

Description:
UK: Dewi Lewis Publishing, 2011. Book. Illus. by Phillip Toledano. Fine. Hardcover. Signed by Author(s). 1st Edition. This is a book of portraits of people who have re-created themselves through plastic surgery. Phillip Toledano believes that we are at the vanguard of a period of human-induced evolution. A turning point in history where we are beginning to define not only our own concept of beauty, but of physicality itself. Beauty has always been a currency, and now that we finally have the technological means to mint our own, what choices do we make? Is beauty informed by contemporary culture? By history? Or is it defined by the surgeon's hand? When we re-make ourselves, are we revealing our true character, or are we stripping away our very identity? .
