Hand-tinted (clothing), with a facsimile of Henri's signature beneath. Sheet size is 29cm x 46cm / 11.5 x 18 inches. At left: "Bazin / 1831". At right: "Lith. de Delpech.". A nice clean copy, light foxing. Several varieties and sizes of these lithographs exist, with and without facsimile signatures. From the French work: "Iconographie des Contemporains, ou, Portraits des Personnes dont les noms se rattachent plus pariculièrement, soit par leurs actions, soit par leurs écrits, aux divers événements qui ont eu lieu en France, depuis 1789, jusqu'en 1829 : avec les fac-simile de l'écriture de chacune d'elles / / lithographiés par les plus habiles artistes, d'après les Peintures, Sculptures et dessins de MM. The second edition; first published in three separate parts (1625 - 1637). An extensive work on the preparation and use of oils and unguents (perfumed ointments) in Biblical times. Armorial bookplate of Carlo Archinto [Feu M. Le Comte Archinto] on the front fixed end paper. Dust-soiling of end papers, some minor marginal stains to a few late leaves, but a clean and excellent copy. This Amsterdam edition was reprinted in 1710, and again in The Hague, 1725, under another title: "Thesaurus antiquitatum sacro-profanarum in quo ex antiquis Græcis ac Latinis Scriptoribus, quidquid ad Nomina, Usum, & Abusum Oleorum., & Unguentorum ....".

[Halifax: Royal Print and Litho, 1931]. First edition. . 8vo. Vellum, the front cover decorated and titled in brown and black. Map end papers. Frontispiece & 9 illustrations. Covers bowed, short tears at the hinge ends from the bowing, a nice clean copy in very good condition. Apparently 500 copies were printed, of which this is one of 250 having the Mersey Paper Company ad leaf at the front. The book was issued in glasine and a box; neither are present here. The book was published by C.H.L. Jones, the text by Thomas Raddall and the illustrations by Thomas W. Hayhurst. Quite uncommon.

A nice clean copy in a slightly worn pictorial dust jacket, a piece torn from the upper rear panel, and some scuffs to spine and wear to upper edge. Not so common in the jacket. Grieg was the author of THE SHIP SAILS ON (Skibet Gaar Videre) (1924, translated 1927), a novel which strongly influenced Malcolm Lowry when writing ULTRAMARINE. This is a collection of his verse in the original Danish.

Quarter-calf & marbled boards, spine designed in gilt. 351pp. Half-title leaf is present, on it indicating that this is Vol. CCCCXII of Baudry's Collection of Ancient and Modern British Authors. Old stain to lower edge of first few leaves, pencil notes on rear end papers, moderate edge wear, a very good copy. Perhaps the first Continental edition, though Galignani published an edition in Paris in the same year. The first novel in Cooper's "Littlepage Manuscripts" trilogy, which was written in reaction to the Anti-Rent War in upstate New York (1839-1845). BAL 3914, citing the UK first edition.
