Original red half-cloth over black paper-covered boards string-tied portfolio with black lettering and ruling on red label of cover. The embroideries and woven printed fabrics presented here on forty plates were exhibited at the U.S.S.R. pavilion at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts at Paris in 1925. The samples reproduced here were supplied by ethnographic museums and almost all of them were produced in the 19th century. A few are from the 17th and 18th century and plates 26 and 27 are contemporary, produced after the establishment of the Soviet regime. The portfolio contains a descriptive introductory text with details about the production of the exhibited pieces and their origins, and a table with descriptors and location of the embroideries. The certificate is hand signed by both the lieutenant and the commander of Heyn's flying corps. Two weeks prior this, Wilhelm (Willi) Heyn represented Germany in the Men's 3000 metres steeplechase at the Berlin Olympics, where he finished ninth.
