The bottom of the front board is rolled inward (the underlying cardboard may be cracked). There is a neat inscription on the front endpaper. Shaken/cracked along some gutters. Pages/pastedowns are browning/foxing. There is a piece of tissue paper between the frontispiece (portrait of Captain Scott) and the title page. It has browned and transferred its image to the frontispiece, which appears browned/foxed. The tissue is also torn along bottom fore edge and along bottom near gutter.
