New York: Doubleday, Doran & Co, 1933. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good Minus. 8vo - over 7. Kent, Rockwell. First edition stated, black cloth with blind stamped illustration to front board and gilt titles to spine, 574 pages, dust jacket art, frontis illustration and small illustrations at beginning of each section all by Rockwell Kent; cloth faded at spine ends, gift inscription in front endpaper, internally clean and sound, dust jacket rubbed and edge worn with chipping at extremities, 1/2 inch chip out at head of spine affecting the first "A" in the title and a small triangular chip out at tail, a few small closed edge tears, dust jacket now in protective mylar cover. Aldington is best remembered for his World War I poetry, the 1929 novel, Death of a Hero, and for his 1955 Lawrence of Arabia: A Biographical Inquiry.
