Charles Edward Daniels (1936 - 2020) was an American musician and songwriter who fused rock, country, blues and jazz, and was a leading figure in Southern rock. His trademark look and sound was his fiddle, which was prominently featured in his number-one country hit "The Devil Went Down to Georgia". Daniels' book, The Devil Went Down to Georgia is a collection of short stories featuring a colorful cast of characters.
