1856 Robert Burns Scottish Poetry Scotland Poems Cunningham Letters Illustrated"My love is like a red, red rose
That's newly sprung in June:
My love is like the melody
That's sweetly played in tune…"
– Robert Burns
Robert Burns was a Scottish poet and lyricist. He is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland and is celebrated worldwide. He is regarded as a pioneer of the Romantic Movement and after his death became a great source of inspiration to the founders of both liberalism and socialism. A cultural icon in Scotland and among the Scottish Diaspora around the world, celebration of his life and work became almost a national charismatic cult during the 19th and 20th centuries, and his influence has long been strong on Scottish literature.
This 1856 edition of the works of Robert Burns features original letters, poems, and critical observations on Scottish Songs by Allan Cunningham.

1670 Huguenot Peter Moulin Charles I Execution Parerga John Milton Salmasius'Parerga' is a 17th-century collection of Latin poems by French Huguenot pastor Peter du Moulin. This book consists of some of his most important works including his important work on the conflict between Charles I of England and the British Parliament. In 'Charles I, King & Martyr', Moulin described the infamous events in the trial of Charles I which lead to the execution of the King of England.
He also published a book entitled 'Regii Sanguinis' in which he defends the controversial work of Salmasius and in-turn attacks John Milton and his views. These, along with other poems and commentaries, were published by John Hayes in 1670 Cambridge.

Description:
1767 Fables of Jean de Fontaine w/ MUSIC French Literature Aesop Poetry SongsJean de la Fontaine was without question, the most widely read 17th-century fabulist, and perhaps could be rivaled only by Aesop himself. He wrote for what he intended to be a sophisticated French audience; however, his stories provided important lessons on morality for children and adults alike. Many of Fontaine's fables were adapted from those of Aesop and Phaedrus; though he did take liberties to make them his own.
This 1767 edition includes 32 engraved plates of music at the end of the book.

Trumansburg, NY: Out of Step Press. Fine with no dust jacket. 2016. Numbered Edition; First Printing. Pamphlet. The author's non-linear poem about the billeting of soldiers in civilian homes in wartime. Copy 89 of a limited edition of 250. Folded into the form of a letter, the work was letterpress printed in wraps of handmade "combat paper" made from military uniforms. The author says: "Some time ago-maybe a year, maybe two? I had a conversation with some of my Combat Paper brothers (well, the kids call them their combat paper uncles, so it follows

It's a thought experiment: if we tore down the barracks at military hospitals and offered incentives for Americans in the surrounding neighborhoods to quarter injured service members, what would the honest instructions…
