Inner flyleaf of the second volume ("Part First" of the 2-volume "Tom Brown at Oxford") bears pencilled nonauthorial gift inscription to him (though in Lynch's hand!) "From Andr. Sexton / To his friend / James M. Lynch / Decbr 25, 1865.
