1st Thus/Household Edition (1872-1873). Hardcover with original green cloth, gilt and black decorations. Dust jackets were not issued. Volumes include: LITTLE DORRIT, BARNABY RUDGE, GREAT EXPECTATIONS, MARTIN CHUZZLEWIT, PICKWICK PAPERS, AND THE OLD CURIOSITY SHOP. Text printed double columns. Light toning with occasional spotting in some volumes; tissue guards in all except one; solidly bound with straight spines; clean and unmarked; covers have edge and corner wear; spine extremities worn. Four volumes published by Harper & Brothers (brown endpapers); two volumes published by Chapman & Hall/D. Appleton & Co. (cream endpapers) (these two volumes are undated). Illustrated by Thomas Nast, J. Barnard, F. A. Fraser, J. Mahoney, and Thomas Worth.
