Most probably Paris, Circa 1450. A leaf of two pages with 15 lines per page written in brown ink with opening initials of ten lines and other decorations in red and blue and beautifully burnished with bright gilt, one two line initial also heavily burnished in gilt. 125 x 90 mm approximate, now handsomely presented in a very large and attractive museum quality frame, the mounting designed so that both sides of the leaf may be viewed. The decoratively carved frame is of gilded red wood with ebony trim, glazed with archival quality glass, in all measuring 60 by 42 cm. A very beautiful example in fine condition, the vellum clean, the lettering dark and strong, the painted and gilt initials bright and finely done.
