Description:
Providence: Sidney S. Rider, 1863. In fragile condition. An 1863 reprint of the 1652 book. Originally printed in London, February 1652. Complete Title is: "Experiments of Spiritual Life & Health and their Preservatives in which the weakest child of God may get assurance of his spiritual life and blessednesse and the strongest may find proportionable discoveries of his Christian growth and the means of it. By Roger Williams of Providence in New England." The title page is a reproduction from 1652. This 1863 reproduction is faithful to the original with the typeface of the period substituting the letter "F" for "S" and using what is now less conventional spelling. This was a limited edition reprinting of 500 copies. Roger Williams (1603-1683) was a religious reformer, maverick, and perhaps the first supporter of Native American rights. He is also credited as being the first in the American colonies to attempt to prohibit slavery. Williams was one of the… Read More

Contents include: AC Ace and Aceca Leaf Sprung AC Cobra 260 and 289 427 Cobra and AC 289 From jacket: "Exquisitely good-looking, hand made and quite reasonably fast, the AC Ace was launched in 1954 as a sports car of rare culture. It was to evolve through many guises: Bristol and Ford six-cylinder engines were fitted to endow a stronger punch, an elegant fixed-head couple arrived in the shape of the Aceca, and Carroll Shelby's Ford V8 transplant created the awe inspiring Cobra. Fifteen years after it's introduction, the Ace had metamorphosed into the fearsome Cobra 427, the fastest road car of its era. Yet in all this time a tiny number - just over 2000 - of Aces, Acecas and Cobras were built... Drawing from factory records as well as the accumulated knowledge of respected owners and enthusiasts, this book provides the evidence… Read More

Description:
New York: Barricade Books, Inc., 1995. This book was effectively banned in Britain, after (then) Prince Charles (now King Charles III) obtained an injunction preventing its publication. The author had worked for years for the Royal Family whose employees are prevented by law from writing about their experiences. An American publisher accepted Berry's memoir about Charles and Diana's troubled marriage and the book was published in the United States. Prince Charles obtained an additional injunction preventing Berry from profiting from the book, and Berry basically spent five years on the run outside the United Kingdom and earned hundreds of thousands of dollars from the book. An explanatory page in the book details the publisher's process for going ahead with publication despite the legal issues. The original dust jacket for the book - no jacket is included with this book - actually stated "Banned in Britain." 4th printing 8vo size hardcover with gilt titles on green cloth… Read More
