Complete Title is: "Experiments of Spiritual Life & Health and their Preservatives in which the weakest child of God may get assurance of his spiritual life and blessednesse and the strongest may find proportionable discoveries of his Christian growth and the means of it. By Roger Williams of Providence in New England." The title page is a reproduction from 1652. This 1863 reproduction is faithful to the original with the typeface of the period substituting the letter "F" for "S" and using what is now less conventional spelling. This was a limited edition reprinting of 500 copies. Roger Williams (1603-1683) was a religious reformer, maverick, and perhaps the first supporter of Native American rights. Unique Handmade Ivory and Brass Cover on Rare 1901 Siddur (Jewish Prayerbook) Form of Prayers and Blessings of Israel with an English Translation published by the Hebrew Publishing Company, Brooklyn, New York Book opens right to left. 511 pages. 32mo: 4.75 by 3.5 inches in size and 1.75 inches thick. The original binding may have been green cloth which has been covered over. The first layer is a white or cream colored celluloid frame on the front and back covers with a brass frame. Teeny brass nails mark the midpoint of the frame closest to the spine on both front and back cover. A detailed brass clasp and peg to hold the volume closed are intact. The hinge and clasp are probably prefabricated pieces. The front cover was truly a labor of love with many layers of artistry. New York: Barricade Books, Inc., 1995. This book was effectively banned in Britain, after (then) Prince Charles (now King Charles III) obtained an injunction preventing its publication. The author had worked for years for the Royal Family whose employees are prevented by law from writing about their experiences. An American publisher accepted Berry's memoir about Charles and Diana's troubled marriage and the book was published in the United States. Prince Charles obtained an additional injunction preventing Berry from profiting from the book, and Berry basically spent five years on the run outside the United Kingdom and earned hundreds of thousands of dollars from the book. An explanatory page in the book details the publisher's process for going ahead with publication despite the legal issues.
