Description:
1908. No Binding. Very Good/No Jacket. Hugh Thomson. This is the original watercolour, by Hugh Thomson, used for the picture of Eashing in chapter XI of the book by Eric Parker. The image is 11 X 8.5" and is framed and glazed by Edward Walker & Co of Coleraine, N.I., where Hugh Thomson originated. The image is clean and tidy although the inside of the glass has some spots on it and the picture would benefit from reglazing. This is a heavy item and will attract additional P&P if sent outside the UK so kindly contact me for a P&P quotation before ordering. Frame size 20 X 15". This is the original watercolour, by Hugh Thomson, used for the picture of Eashing in chapter XI of the book by Eric Parker.

Measuring 1.2 X 1.4 in a leather wallet, A.E.G., consisting of 40 pages, of which 19 leaves are printed on both sides with 2 other leaves printed on one side only. Very good condition with a small pocket at both ends, one of which contains a neatly written ownership inscription dated 1844. The Almanack contains a monthly calendar, a Table of Kings & Queens Reigns, Lord Mayors and Sheriffs, list of Holidays and a list of Current Coins. Uncommon with 3 copies worldwide referenced in ESTC as T127702 although the collation given in ESTC differs from this copy and appears to have been cut and pasted in for all the editions of the London Almanack published between 1788 & 1797.

This is the first printing of the 1947 edition of the book that inspired Ian Fleming to name his spy hero in the iconic series of James Bond books. Very good in brown cloth with a previous owner's name and date (1951) on endpaper. Front wrapper flap has been machine cut with price $3.75. Wrapper in good condition with a sunned spine area and missing a "V" shaped section to its top. The wrapper is dusty with minor wear to its extremities. This is the first printing of the 1947 edition of the book that inspired Ian Fleming to name his spy hero in the iconic series of James Bond books.
