This vintage black & white photo by the Hollywood photographer James Abbe (1883 - 1973) is of Rudolph Valentino ( 1895 - 1926 ) . This personalized vintage photo of Valentino sitting on a couch with a book on his lap is a scarce image of this Silent Movie Star in relaxed full view shot ( scarce in pose and signed). The photo is now matted and framed . The autograph is to a friend ( **** to one of the sweetest girls I know, Rudy ). Signed photos of Valentino are extremely rear and photos by this photographer are also scarce to the market . Over all framed size : 17.5" x 15.5" . Size: 8 x 10 Photo Matted.

1665. Fine. 1 handwritten parchment document (33 x 48 cm.). On 14 April 1665 Stephen Freeland of New Alresford of Southampton Co., butcher, gave in trust to Nicolas Scriven of the same place, butcher, the house where Freeland lived, for the love for Jane, now wife of Freeland. In Fine Condition: clean and crisp.

1750. Rare printing of Doctor Faust's chapbook in Dutch. Woodcut on title, 58 (repeated) woodcut illustrations. A total of 60 vignettes. Complete. More recent paper covers. These are somewhat rubbed with significant rubbing and loss to the spine. Written number to the front cover. The date c.1750 is printed on the remnant of a catalogue label stuck to the front cover. The impressions of the engravings are somewhat are somewhat blurred. P. 41, repeated on p. 76, the illustrations are not woodcuts but metalcuts. The shape of the heads of the nails with which the plates were mounted on wood are printed on many of them. A nice example. 86 (2) pp. 205 x 165 mm (8 x 6½ inches). New York: Dell Publishing, 1931-1932. First edition. The first 12 issues of this hugely popular depression-era humor magazine known for its parodies of advertising and publishing. An early precursor to Mad Magazine, it was "stuffed with parodies of national advertisements and consumer magazines and sprinkled liberally with topical and risque cartoons and gags." In the first issue alone the magazine uses cartoons to tackle topics such as prohibition, economic conditions, homelessness, and organized crime. (Joseph P. The 15-cent, initially ad-free magazine spawned all manner of products -- from scarves and neckties to a Manhattan nightclub. Publications Willy Fischer, 1932. First Edition. Ludo, a comedy in three acts by the renowned French journalist, novelist and playwright, Pierre Scize (pseudonym for Michel Joseph Piot, 1894 -1956). Scize was hit by a shell in the first months of WWI, losing his arm. With all that remained of him, Scize started to write. He wrote for L'Œuvre, Bonsoir, Paris-Journal, Canard Enchaine, La Figaro and was a member of one of the first ciné-clubs, Ricciotto Canudo's CASA, becoming a film critic for Candide and Paris Soir. Small octavo, illustrated paper wrappers, 24 pages, photographically illustrated with art deco advertisements and portraits of the company in black & white throughout, near fine. Rare.

The text block is sound, and the text is a bit toned and has just a little sporadic foxing. Bartholomew Figures Moore (1801-1878) was a North Carolina attorney and politician and was largely a Union loyalist during the Civil War He was born in Halifax County and graduated from UNC in 1820 and was a trustee of the University 1840-1868 and then again from 1871 until his death.
