These ten poems printed for the first time form part of "Cave Birds," a sequence of twenty poems written by Hughes between 1974-75 to Baskin's drawings. The poems are published together with prints from the related drawings and each poem is accompanied by a facsimile of a draft selected from the poet's working papers. The elephant folio sized prints are signed by Baskin, numbered, and dated. The book is quarter white paper, with hand-made chocolate paper sides and light brown label stamped in black. Unpaginated. Portfolio is 20 x 14 1/2 inches. The Baskin prints are printed on Barcham Green paper. The text of the poems is printed on handmade paper by F. Amatruda, Amalfi. The matching burlap covered fitted portfolio with ties contains both the prints and the book. Number 93 of an edition limited to one hundred copies, each copy of the book signed by the poet, Ted Hughes, and the illustrator, Leonard Baskin. Fine condition.

11 3/8 x 15 1/8 inches.Quarter cloth bound with decorated paper covered boards. Title in gold on the front cover and on the spine, double gold line runs along the seam of the cloth on the front and the back covers. Unpaginated. Each poem accompanies one of the engravings. All of the engravings and poems illlustrate scenes Kingsley saw and sketched in London and Bristol after the air raids. Cook has exhibited his work at many distinguished British associations, including the Society of Wood Engravers, the Royal Academy London, the Royal Scottish Academy, and the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers. Cook printed the book on a Hopkinson and Cope 1842 Albion press. Fine, with a slight ding on the spine. This is the first production of his Centaur Press. Number 58 of 96 copies, signed by the artist, author, and printer. Prospectus enclosed.

This is copy number 78 of only 100 copies for sale (there were another 10 copies for presentation) initialled by the printer, Ridley Burnett. A fine bright copy which is a beautifully produced facsimile of the famous Kelmscott Press edition of 1893. Finely hound bound in full white limp vellum, lettered in gilt. Green silk ties which were specially woven for this edition by H. Caldicott of London. With a short booklet about the 1893 edition, again limited, numbered and this initialled by Harold Smith and Ridley Burnett. Grey paper wraps with silk tie to the hinge. The two volumes are Housed in the publishers original grey paper covered slip case. A beautiful facsimile of a beautiful edition of Shakespeare's Poems in fine condition.
