Copyright 1894, this set is from the new and enlarged edition published 1905. Three-quarter bound, 10 volume hardcover set as pictured, missing volumes 11 and 12 [the indexes]. This set is number 216/300 of the Gettysburg Edition, Edition de Grand Luxe. These are beautifully made books whose bindings are very worn. They are eminently suitable for rebinding. Bindings are firm in all 12 volumes. Brown leather and marbled paper boards are very worn and either loose or detached in all volumes. Several volumes are missing either front or rear board. The leather is dry and crumbling. Marbled endpapers. Text block with gilt top edge is rough cut and mottled with some pages uncut. Text itself appears clean and unmarked. Each volume includes tipped in illustrations with tissue guards. Price reflects condition. Price includes extra shipping cost due to weight.
