Very good condition overall. Volume 1 is missing the Dust Jacket, grey dust jacket on Volume two is very good with some wear to edges.Third Printing Nov. 1955. Fold out Key Chart in Vol 1. The Black Slip case is in very good condition, also good and strong... there is some rubbing to the edges. <P><BR> Volume 1 is the text and volume 2 the commentaries. Volume 1 has notes on the free end and paste down that completely fill those 2 pages, mostly in Pencil but some blue pen, doesn't appear to have any other notes or marks in the books. Both volumes have a personal Library card pocket in the back of each book. Overall a nice set for this rare edition! . Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Else near fine and scarce copy, published 2 years following the death of famous French fortune teller, Marie Anne Adelaide Le Normand. Only one copy of Part 2 listed in Worldcat at the Wellcome Library. Discusses the planets, 12 houses of the Zodiac, as well as kabbalistic numbers.

Book is in NF condition with light bumping to spine ends else a bright and solid copy. Dust jacket is in VG condition with light rubbing to edges, mild soiling to covers else still bright, intact and whole.

Pages 13-16, 75-82, 171-176 were slightly creased during the printing process at the top edge. Page 55/56 has a 1/4" tear at the bottom edge. Roxbury, MA: American Avatar, 1971. First Edition. Softcover. Good. Spine creased, covers rubbed with a few chips & edgewear, pages slightly age-toned, text unmarked, binding is tight, Good condition. Derived from letters written between 1958 through 1966, along with photos & poetry by Mel Lyman (1938-1978) seminal and controversial counterculture figure, musician, writer and founder of the Lyman Family aka Fort Hill Community, a family, cult and/or commune. Lyman played banjo and harmonica as a member of the Jim Kweskin Jug Band starting in 1963. In 1966 Lyman founded the Fort Hill Community in Roxbury, Boston. His underground newspaper Avatar (published 1967-68), shocked the staid Bostonians at that time.

All edges gilt, moire endpapers, printed in brown type and illustrations embellished in gold. Calligraphic presentation inscription by Svetozar dated 1927. Includes the bifold "Information for the Reader" brochure. Illustrations by Malcolm Thurburn. (Ideas).

Gillette, NJ: Heptangle Books, 1988. 2nd edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Near VG, lacks dw. 8vo, xxviii+212pp, gray cloth with spine stamped in gold. This 1988 Heptangle Books edition is reproduced lithographically from their important letterpress first edition (of 1984) of this occult classic. Text is unmarked but shows moderate soil and wear from operational use.

Cheiro's famous book on ghosts, RARE signed. Born William John Warner, he became a celebrated clairvoyant, astrologer and palm reader and authored several well known books on these topics. He told the fortune of many celebrated figures of his day, including Mark Twain, Thomas Edison and Oscar Wilde.
This copy is in very good condition. Please see photos, all of which are of this copy. The book is essentially sound, with in fact very clean pages with only some foxing on outer edges but remarkably clear in text itself save for a few spots on just a few pages. Some give to spine but nothing too serious. The title page seems missing (and one other page -Part 1 title page- is unattached but present, see photos), all other pages seem present. Generally though the pages seem attached OK, some gentle handling needed as with many popular books from this era. FEP has small indent of earlier pencilled price but not especially evident. One corner bumped, others curved inwards; front hinge 'just' starting but otherwise holding well. Clean pages. Very Good. A beautiful copy of the 1975 Weiser edition. Dr Moses Gaster possessed the original text which was potentially a 13th/14th century source (possibly earlier). This was a Hebrew book of magic, the text of which Gaster first published, along with translation and commentary in 1896. His English translation here is followed by the original Hebrew text. Gaster's original document is now in the British Library. This is the third impression from 1975, published by Weiser. Pages are remarkably clean and bright, not a single apparent mark, crease, inscription, tanning or foxing. If anything the top edges have the slightest of age wear. Boards are tight and clean. The very slightest fraying at the base of the spine and a miniscule amount of bending in the bottom corners. But all in all a remarkable copy.
