A high spot of military literature, the gritty account of a recon platoon scouting an enemy position during WWII. Toronto: House Of Anansi, 1974 First Printing, first edition of Yesterdays by Harold Sonny Ladoo, a young immgrant to Canada from Trinidad. This book was apparently the second of what was to be a trilogy which was never completed due to his murder during a visit to Trinidad. It is a comedic novel about the attempted launching of a Hindu mission to Canada, inspired by some negative experiences experienced in meeting a Canadian Christian missionary in Trinidad. This is a near fine copy which may be unread, no writing, no reading creases but a slight turnup to upper outside corner and sadly some small coffee splashes on the page edge (see photo). Scarce.

New York, Traveller's Companion Inc/Olympia Press, 1969, paperback, 174 pp, First Edition, Association copy, Signed and inscribed by the Author to the poet Michael Shepler "To Michael, a pleasant first meeting - warmly Diane di Prima", Shepler's surname appears on the front endpaper identifying the book as his own, Poor condition in pictorial card covers. Straight, and firmly bound, but displaying considerable wear to cover edges and spine, which has been opened on part of the rear hinge, still firmly attached but showing the bound leaves beneath. Text block edges are darkened and stained with some stain infringing onto the surface edges of the first few pages, then lessening through the first 45 pages, finally clearing for the remainder of the book.
