Six spine compartments between raised bands; red morocco labels in the second and fifth compartments with gilt-tooled title "Letras Cursivas Antiguas y Modernas" and date "Año 1780." Gilt-tooled ornamentation in the other four compartments. Endpapers printed in a red floral pattern. Added engraved title page: Escuela de Leer Letras Cursivas Antiguas y Modernas . . . A very good copy of this large illustrated (Julio Prieto ) wrapper first edition. Some pages uncut. Nicely printed. Small crease to bottom edge tip and some soiling to rear cover. Spine is somewhat faded. A scarce book ( novel ) of the Mexican revolution of 1910 that effects a small rural village. Over looked important Latin American work of fiction.

Spanish text clean and unmarked.Includes "the most authoritative edition of the will" of Hernando Colon/Ferdinand Columbus, son of Christopher Columbus (Edward Wilson-Lee, The Catalogue of Shipwrecked Books, London, 2019, page 343). This volume was produced to coincide with the quadricentennial anniversary of the death of Hernando Colon (the volume contains 105 documents reproduced in text format and 4 in photographic facsimiles covering 66 pages.

San Francisco, CA USA: Solidarity Publications, 1984 A near mint copy of the June 1984 stated first printing of this bilingual Spanish-English collection of poetry by Roque Dalton, a writer and Marxist revolutionary from El Salvador and an important influence in Central American literature. He was assassinated in 1975 just before his 40th birthday. The title page is date stamped December 25, 1985, No other flaws. Paperback 12 mo. 206 pages,

This small volume appears to be the third known copy, with the other two referenced in an eBay listing by antiquarian bookseller Antiquates Ltd. in Dorset, England. According to its own introductory notes, this book was ",..formed upon an New Plan to facilitate the acquisition of the Spanish language" by utilizing phraseology found in writings of "the best Spanish authors, including Don Quixote and Cortez in South America." Besides the copy held by Antiquates Ltd., the other known copy of the first edition is reported held by OCLC (Online Computer Library Center). The book is in fair condition, with pages still attached though foxed. The brown paper repair to the binding is itself worn, but holding the boards in place. There is an owner signature inside the front board, no other markings. A rare find, indeed!
